|EVENT:||3rd Annual Sing for Celebration 5K Run/Walk|
|DATE:||April 13, 2019|
Who are we?
Celebration Singers of Asheville strives to ignite a lifelong love of singing by nurturing the full expression of each individual\'s potential for artistic and personal excellence by emphasizing healthy vocal technique, expresive singing and music literacy, while simultaneously engendering growth of discipline, responsibility, teamwork, self-confidence and self-esteem.
What do we do?
We are a community chorus open to children in grades 2-high school. Our members meet once a week to rehearse a wide variety of music, including classical pieces, spiritual music, broadway tunes, popular and folk tunes. We go out into the community and share our love of music in places such as Givens Estates, Stone Creek Rehabilitation, and for years we have delivered Valentine Serenades to homes and businesses.
In addition to these places, we have been invited to entertain guests at venues such as the Grove Park Inn, join Asheville Choral Society for their concerts, travel to regional choral festivals, and sing at the Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast. Each December and May, we also have our own Celebration Singers seasonal concerts.
Why a 5k?
We wanted to find a fun event where our familes, members AND the community can come together once a year to help our organization continue to grow. This year, we are offering more age divisions for our participants, and the Top 2 in each age division (in both male and female) will be awarded. Whether you come to compete, or to walk with us - we appreciate your support this year!
This is our 3nd Annual 5K Fundraiser, which continues to support our mission by keeping our tuition affordable and accessible to area children, while also helping to cover rehearsal space expenses, music costs, costs for instruction and accompaniment, and much more.
