New In-Person Course
Three Ways to Run
Based on your personal level of COVID comfort – the 13th Annual Greenway Challenge 5k/10k race will offer three run/walk options > On Course 5/10K, DIY On Course 5/10K, or DIY Anywhere 5/10K.
In Person 5/10K: Sunday – April 11th
This is close to a “normal” run/walk. Runners can Start at any time between 12:00 and 4:00pm*. Participants will be “called up” to Start in socially distant quantities at approximately 15 minute intervals. At the Finish – runners are to proceed directly to their vehicles. We have initiated these plans to minimize touch points, avoid the need to congregate, and to adhere to pandemic Rules & Regs. Safety First.
Please refer to the COVID Safe Procedures and FAQ tabs above for specific Race Day Instructions. Overall and Age Group prizes will be awarded. * We ask that 10K runners/walker Start before 2:00pm.
DIY On Course 5/10K: Friday – April 2nd > Sunday – April 11th
The 5K course will be marked and open from Friday April 2nd until Noon on Sunday 11th. Registered participants can run/walk the course at a time that is convenient for them. 10K participants will run the course 5K course twice. While not required – times can be upload for inclusion in the DIY On Course 5/10K results. Overall prizes will be awarded to the top 3 Overall M/F. DIY Anywhere 5/10K: Friday – April 2nd > Sunday – April 11th
This “Do It Yourself” Event will enable you to run/walk at any time and in any location that is convenient and safe for you and your family. Run around the block, on trails, go down to the track, or even run on a treadmill. You don’t even have to live in Western NC – so please invite friends and family both near and far to join the fun.
While not required – you can submit your time for inclusion in the online “Just For Fun” Results. We will collect times beginning Friday April 2nd until Sunday 11th. There will be No Overall or Age Group Awards. Instructions on “How to submit your DIY times” are found under the FAQ tab above.
Entry Fee:
Adults: $30
Youth (13-17): $15
Kids (1-12): $10
