This is a beautiful spot for a race, combining a 10k with a half mile kids run. The race course details will be available soon. The race director for this is none other than one of Western North Carolina’s running heroes and 2018 Iditarod Trail Invitational Champion: Pete Ripmaster.
A MESSAGE FROM RACE DIRECTOR AND IDITAROD CHAMPION, PETE RIPMASTER:
“I didn’t think there was ANY WAY that I would ever be a race director again! That was until my good friends at Bear Lake Reserve asked me to design a race on their amazing property. I have to admit, I was skeptical because this was my family’s ‘secret getaway’ just over an hour outside of Asheville, NC. Ultimately, I decided it would be way more fun to share this place with my running friends than it would be to be selfish! With all this said, I welcome all runners to come to my favorite mountain retreat in Western North Carolina on Saturday, May 16th 2020. Come join the fun, you won’t regret it.”
The 10k starts at 9:30 AM.
The kids half mile starts at 11:00 AM.
The beneficiary of this event is Special OLympics North Carolina “Dog Pack”
