Beat the Heat 5k – July 20, 2019 – Wake Forest BB&T Football Stadium. – Winston-Salem NC
Directed by Twin City Track Club, the Cook Medical Beat the Heat is one of the most popular races in North Carolina. It has been selected multiple time by Endurance Magazine as the best 5K in Triad NC and was featured in Running Journal magazine as the #1 “Under the Radar” race in the South. Beat the Heat is a charity event with proceeds going to local non-profits that support health and fitness in the community.
The evening start time and festive atmosphere make the event popular for all levels of runners. Each year, close to 100 participants run their very first 5K at Beat the Heat. And more than 50 elite runners will compete in the NC USATF 5K Championship. The races will start and finish near Wake Forest’s BB&T Field and Bridger Field House beginning with the Fun Run at 6:30pm. Stick around after the race for complimentary pizza, subs, and beer (for runners and volunteers only).
