I remember the first annual Asheville Shamrock 10k when the race started and finished on Central Ave, just south of Chestnut. The 10k was a long uphill pull for a couple of miles with a return through the Rose Garden and a nice glide down Kimberly and Edwin. It\’s gone through several iterations since then and it has a strong following.
