Bethel Half Marathon + 5k – October 13, 2018 – Waynesville NC

One of my all-time favorite half marathons. Terrific scenery, mostly flat (that is tough to say in Western North Carolina) and some of the best darn post-race food and volunteers you’ll ever find.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

The Half Marathon and 5K Races are run through the lovely Bethel Community south of Canton, NC, about a half hour outside of Asheville. Our race is on the second Saturday of October – October 13th, 2018. The fall colors on the trees, the rolling farmlands, the Pigeon River, and the cool weather make this a particularly inviting race event.

2018 is our 25th year. We are the oldest half marathon in North Carolina and the third oldest half marathon in the Southeast.

Profits above and beyond race expenses support Bethel Rural Community Organization’s community food pantry, benevolence work (such as assistance with heating bills during cold winters), and rural, historic preservation work, and a college scholarship to a deserving Haywood County student.

The race is sanctioned by the Asheville Track Club and race times are submitted for the ATC Grand Prix Series. The Half Marathon is USATF Certified #NC12099PH. Our race is score by chip timing. We offer cash prizes to the top female and top male finishers of our half marathon.

Preregistration for our 5k is $25. Same day registration is $30.
Preregistration for our half marathon is $40. Same day registration is $45.

Half Marathon starts at 8:30 AM. 5k starts at 8:35 AM.
