Ryder’s Race 5k – November 10, 2018 – Clayton NC

A good cause to support.

Two years ago while visiting in Raleigh, two-year-old Ryder Wells was attacked by dogs. He suffered massive trauma to his face as well as other life threatening injuries. His recovery would be nothing short of a miracle, but his strength to survive was stronger than anything else in the world.

So far Ryder has undergone 42 surgeries between UNC and Duke Hospitals. His medical team works diligently to reconstruct his facial bones, muscle and skin to regain function of his beautiful face. He is so full of love and energy just like every other 4-year-old. He will continue to have multiple surgeries for years to come to correct his beautiful face.

The Cleveland community has banned together to support Ryder and his family raise money to pay his medical expenses. This race is one of those efforts.

The race will start and finish at the Fire Station located at 9039 Cleveland Road in Clayton. Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets beginning at 6:30 am on race day.

The entry fee is $30, up to and including October 31 and increasing to $35 on November 1. The fee on race day will be $40. The entry fee includes a goody bag and t-shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed to all those entered by October 31. After that date, it will be “as available.”
