Oktoberfest 15k + 5k – September 23, 2018 – Leland NC

The Oktoberfest 15K & 5K sponsored by Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine & The Joyce Irish Pub take place in the nicest planned community on the east coast! The courses are flat, picturesque and travel over paved running trails, across wooden bridges and through a nature area on a 1/3 mile long elevated boardwalk. The 15K features custom Oktoberfest themed finisher medals and tech shirts. There are inside bathrooms and locker rooms available before and after the race.

NOTE: The Oktoberfest 5K is a USATF Certified course (USATF Certification #NC16047DF) and is exactly the correct distance! We have one USATF 5K State Record set on our course with Grant Egley (age group 80-84) running a time of 34:08 in 2016!!

The post race party and awards ceremony happen in a park like setting beside a small lake with free beer, running related exhibitors and good snacks and prize drawings before and during the awards ceremony.
