JMB Memorial 5k – September 15, 2018 – Deep Run NC

Joe Mike Baker was an all-around great guy who loved his Sandy Bottom community. He had many hobbies such as bowling, hunting, fishing and sports; however he fell in love with running. At the time of his accidental death in September, 2014 he was training for his first half marathon. As a tribute and to honor his memory family and friends organized the first annual JMB Memorial 5K and Fun Run in September 2016. Through the efforts of the runners, sponsors and volunteers, we were able to fund two scholarships for SLHS seniors.

This year’s JMB Memorial 5K and Fun Run will be held at South Lenoir High School on September 15th. Please make plans to come out and run or walk with us as we remember Joe Mike and the wonderful things he did for the southern Lenoir County area. Thanks for your time and support.
