Leaf Art Dash 5k – August 5, 2017 – French Broad Chocolate Lounge – Asheville NC
This is the classic summertime festival race in downtown Asheville! The Art Dash 5k course starts and finishes in Downtown Asheville by French Broad Chocolate Lounge near the monument on Saturday @ 9 AM to kick off LEAF Downtown. The Asheville Track Club has included the Art Dash in the GRAND PRIX and it is a “Couch 2 5K” event.
The course travels through the city’s downtown and surrounding area. At the starting line, runners or families will get warmed up artfully and with a fun LEAF groove. Along the race, inspiring volunteers assist and guide runners, and Roaming Artists spice up the route with playful puppets, costumes, and artful moments. The LEAF Art Dash is one of the important fundraising tools directly supporting LEAF Schools & Streets bringing arts to our local youth in collaboration with local partners. LEAF has partnered with the Asheville-based SuperFly Fabulous Events to plan, implement and manage the run. “It’s exciting to be working on our home turf on an event that has such potential for the city’s downtown,” said Stephanie Carson, Director of SuperFly Fabulous Events.
