Race for the Grasshopper 5k – January 7, 2017 – Cowpens National Battlefield – Gaffney SC

This 5k race celebrates the 236th anniversary of the historic victory of the Battle of the Cowpens.  The race is on a fast and flat certified course on the roads around the battlefield.   Spartanburg Running Club members get $10 off registration!

At the close of the Battle of Cowpens in 1781, two American officers—confident in victory—raced for the ultimate prize, a British three-pounder cannon, called the “Grasshopper”.
