Bulldog Breakaway New Years 5k – January 7, 2017 – Citadel – Charleston SC

This is the first race of the year for the Bulldog Breakaway Racing series.  The race starts and finishes at Willson Field on The Citadel’s Campus.  The 5k is a certified course around the Citadel and usually brings a great turnout with fast performances.  Check out last years results here.

From the 2016 race: We want to thank everyone who participated in the Bulldog Breakaway New Year’s 5K today. We had a great turnout and with terrific performances.  Our overall winner today was Jacob Wexler (19) of Hollywood, SC with a time of 18:52.  Right behind him was our junior division winner, Jonathan Zuraw (17) of Charleston, SC with a time of 18:53.  Our sub-master’s division winner was Bob Sams (54) of Goose Creek, SC with a time of 18:54.  Our overall female winner was Caitlyn Shephard of Atlanta, GA with a time of 25:47, while our female runner-up was Kelly Sieling of Summerville, SC with a time of 25:57.  Our senior master’s division winner was Reginald Thomas (61) of Harleyville, SC with a time of 22:52.  We were able to start 2016 on the right foot as we had a great turnout despite the cold and wet weather.
