The Durham 13.1 race series is a great way to stay focused during the holidays while closing out your Fall racing season with a great half marathon. The course has been updated from last year, to accommodate an even larger race size. Last year over 1,000 runners showed up! Check out the 2015 results here. With North Carolina’s mild winter temperatures, this December half marathon, 10k and 5k race will be a great way for any runner to close out the fall race season and stay focused on training through the Thanksgiving holiday! Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Race 13.1 Durham’s course will be updated slightly from the 2015 event to accomodate the larger race size expected in 2016. Stay tuned for a final course map!
In addition to the shops and restaurants Northgate has to offer, runners and spectators will want to take advantage the restaurants and eateries that gave Durham the title “Tastiest Town in the South” by Southern Living. Home to Duke University, Duke Gardens, the Durham Bulls baseball team and the Durham Performing Arts Center, the No. 4 ranked theater in the country, Durham and the surrounding Research Triangle Park offers plenty of sites to see and activities to do throughout the weekend.
