Rowan Hospice Share the Care 5k – November 12, 2016 – Novant Health Rowan – Salisbury NC

The Share the Care 5k in Salisbury, NC is only a few days away!  This race will have something for everyone – from a competitive 5k for racers and a half mile fun-run for the kiddos.  Best of all your participation will bring hope to many patients and families in Rowan county who are seeking compassionate care in their final months.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

“We are so excited about this event. It’s our first ever and we are hoping a great crowd will join us for both the fun and fellowship – and to help support our mission of providing compassionate care,” shared Edwina Ritchie, Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care’s Director of the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. “Hospice care is paid for by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. However, that reimbursement does not fully cover the cost of our care. That’s why we rely, in part, on donations from the community. The walk and run are open to everyone in the community, and the proceeds will benefit our patients and families in Rowan and surrounding counties,” added Ritchie.  “It’s a great opportunity to honor or remember a loved one as well. We believe our Rowan Hospice Share the Care 5k is a great way for the community to support our mission,” Ritchie said.
