Carry Your Cross 5k – March 26, 2016 – Pole Creek Baptist Church – Candler NC

This Easter 5k has a unique twist — all runners must carry a 2×4 “cross” for the last 0.2 miles uphill to the finish line. There’s also a friendly church team competition to see which church can produce the fastest team of 4 runners.

Over the years we have raised money to build homes and to drill a well in Honduras, stocked a local disaster relief trailer with supplies and bought children’s multivitamins to distribute to needy kids on foreign mission fields. In our 6th year of raising funds for and awareness of mission efforts, we are planning to serve the local community again. We plan to feed needy families in Candler with a Thanksgiving meal in November. This being Pole Creek Baptist Church’s 100th Anniversary, we have many events planned for our community and this is just one of a long list.
