GingerSnap 5k – December 3, 2016 – Historic Downtown – Waxhaw NC

The GingerSnap 5k boasts a flat and fast course that’s USATF certified and will give runners a tour of downtown Waxhaw. The race offers generous Omega Sports gift card awards to overall winners and top two age group placers.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

The GingerSnap 5K is a unique race that takes you through the downtown streets of Historic Waxhaw. The course places you in the heart of the antique district and takes you down tree lined streets at a beautiful time of year. The GingerSnap 5K is a professionally timed race and is part of the Town of Waxhaw’s “12 Days of Christmas” – a celebration of the season leading up to Christmas Day.

The GingerSnap 5K includes a 5K Race open to all runners and a Girls on the Run 5K Fun Run. The GingerSnap 5K benefits “Girls on the Run”, a non-profit organization which combines training for a 5K running event with healthy living education for girls in grades 3-8. The program instills self-esteem through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training – all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration between girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and community.
