Warrior 5k – March 26, 2016 – Indian Land High School – Indian Land SC
|A race for an important cause at Indian Land High School. The race takes place on the high school cross country course, which is great because it should be mostly off-road.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
Come join us for a Saturday morning 5k through the growing Indian Land community. The race starts and ends at the Indian Land High School track and includes a run on our cross-country course. All funds raised from the event will fund the high school Friends of Rachel Club’s annual scholarship. The Friends of Rachel club was founded after the untimely death of Rachel Joy Scott in the 1999 Columbine High School mass shooting. Rachel’s father found her diary after her death and learned that Rachel’s goal in life was to change the world with kindness and he began the internationally recognized Rachel’s Challenge program. Rachel’s Challenge is to encourage students to create positive and welcoming communities within schools. The five pillars of her challenge are to dream big, speak kind words, choose positive influences, speak kind words, and start a chain reaction of kindness. Come join us and help our students to meet their $500 scholarship goal to be awarded to a deserving senior who exhibit Rachel’s ideals. Our club members want to change our community and start a chain reaction of kindness. If running isn’t for you, come and walk or you can make a donation to help us meet our goal. Join us in our mission!
