Stop, Drop, and Roll 5K – April 2, 2016 – Fire Department – Summerfield NC

Another new race in Summerfield NC. This event will feature a chili cook-off after the race, which is a great way for runners to chow down to their heart’s content after burning so much energy on the race course. Register by the end of February for a nice price of $20.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

April 2, 2016 marks the first annual Stop, Drop, and Roll 5k and Chili Cook Off. This will be a fun filled day which will start with a fun run for the smaller runners followed by a 5k walk or run that will start and end at the Fire Department. Following the 5k, there will be activities at the fire station including a chili cook off and a bounce house. The fun run is a lap around the Fire Station.

The money raised will go towards the Summerfield Firefighters Charitable Corporation and Greensboro Ignite the Spirit Fund. The Summerfield Firefighters Charitable Corporation supports firefighters as they serve Summerfield and surrounding communities through recognitions of excellence, emergency assistance, scholarships, team building, community support, and other means deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors. The Greensboro Ignite the Spirit Fund is to assist the Greensboro Fire Department members in times of illness, injury, or in the event of a line of duty death. Ignite the Spirit will continue on without fanfare, every day, and lives true by the slogan, “We’re HERE When You Need Us”.
