Blue Ridge Marathon + Half Marathon + 10k – April 16, 2016 – Jefferson St – Roanoke VA

Blue Ridge MarathonThis race has earned it’s title of “America’s Toughest Road Marathon” by challenging runners with elevation over 7,400 feet.  While the agonizing uphills will test your strength, the plunging downhills will take your breath away – but the stunning Blue Ridge Mountain scenery will be a beautiful distraction as you make your way to the finish line!

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

Set for its 7th annual running this spring, Roanoke’s Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K takes runners on an out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes in downtown Roanoke and features towering (and oh-so-challenging) hills through the city’s Mill Mountain Park.

Runners will make their way just north of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the nearly 470-mile highway that unfolds along the Blue Ridge Mountains and through some of the most scenic parts of Virginia and North Carolina.

Both the full marathon and half marathon feature 7 1/2-hour course time limits, which makes it possible for the race to welcome both runners and walkers in both distances.

The course is USATF-certified.
