The first sign of warmer weather is as good a reason as any to start getting back in shape and enjoying exercise in the beautiful outdoors. You’ll get a long sleeve tech shirt and be supporting the Rotary Club of West Stanley while you’re at it. And don’t forget to wear a costume!

The Rotary Club of West Stanly is hosting the first annual Spring Into Health 5K and Fun Run! Upon arrival at 2 p.m., please go to the Locust Community Building at Officer Jeff Shelton Memorial Park beside Locust Elementary School for check-in. Signs will be posted for clarity. This race is one-way, starting at the Locust Community Building and ending between Stanly Community College – Crutchfield Center and Locust Medical Services.

*This race will be the kickoff event for the Start It, Stanly Race Series sponsored by Carolinas HealthCare System. With 6 races in the series, participants will earn points for each race they take part in. Bonus points will be awarded for Top 9 Males and Top 9 Females to finish in each race. Invitations for the Start It, Stanly Celebration, held on November 9, will be sent to those participating in the race series. For more information, please go to CarolinasHealthCare.org/StartItStanly.
