Florence Forth 5k + 10k Road Race – March 5, 2016 – Ninth Street – Durham NC

This is a family-friendly event, featuring a kid’s cape dash, fun games, face painting, and art projects as post-race activities. The 10k and 5k courses for this race are USATF certified and consist of a large loop starting and finishing on Ninth Street in Durham.

Join your friends and the Durham community for the fourth annual Florence Forth Road Race.

Florence Forth is a competitive 10K road race and a 5K run/walk through Durham’s historic neighborhoods with start / finish line on Ninth Street.

Both courses are certified and chip timed. Cash prizes for 10K winners. Hand crafted awards, race tech-t shirts, and post-race celebration. All for a great cause.

The race is a fundraising event to benefit the Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to raising awareness, educating doctors and improving clinical care so that no one faces autoimmune encephalitis (AE) alone.

Last year’s event raised $60,000, allowing the AE Alliance to develop the online AE Clinicians Network to connect families with doctors and clinicians. With this year’s proceeds, the AE Alliance will create an online database of patients to advance medical research and speed discovery of a cure.
