Dog Days 5k – March 5, 2016 – NC State Faculty Club – Raleigh NC

DOG DAYS 5K

Attention dog lovers — this is the race for you. There’s no better way to show your loyal companion how much you care than by running together in a 5k! The Dog Days race has a nice start time of 12 noon, so both you and your doggy can sleep in on the big day.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

Running with one’s dog is generally discouraged in area races, but this is one event where it is encouraged.

Last year 27 runners completed the 5K cross-county run while others did the 2-mile dog walk. Anthiny Corriveau led all finishers in 19:15. Shannon Johnstone led the women in 23:01.
The start/finish area is at the NC State Faculty Club located at 4200 Hillsborough Street just west of the Beltline.

The both events start at 12 noon. Dogs can also participate in the 5K.

The entry fees are $20.00 for the 5K and $10 for the 2-Mile Dog Walk. After 2/23, both fees increase by $5. Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets beginning at 11:00 am on race day.

In the 5K run the first male overall, the first female overall and the top male and female under 18 will receive award.
