Run for the Roses

The Run for the Roses is one of the oldest 5k’s in the Triangle (all female 5k finishers receive a rose).  Run to raise money to benefit Canines for Service, an organization which trains service dogs for people with limited mobility and Team Red, White and Blue, an organization with the mission to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

The course is a USATF certified 5k loop at the lovely and scenic Dorothea Dix Campus. This 3.1 mile course will take you around beautiful open fields and through the former occupied buildings of NC’s first Psychiatric Hospital. There is plenty of parking available on campus for all race events.

There also will be a couple’s competition. There is no fee for the couple’s competition and one can register for the couple’s competition on Saturday, the 13th, or on race day.  In the couples competition, awards will be given to the top three couples overall with the lowest combined times.
