1st Day 5k – January 1, 2016 – Haw River State Park – Greensboro NC
This New Years Day race is part of the North Carolina State Parks initiative to get kids and adults outdoors and active on the first day of the year! Hopefully by doing so, this will kick-start folks to stay active all year-long. Proceeds will go to the Friends of Haw River State Park and help with educational programming.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
This year the 1st Day 5K will take place at Haw River State Park. The race course is on the newest trail to open at the park on the new 800 acre section off of Church Street. The course will start and finish with a long straightaway allowing athletes to spread out before they reach the trail. Water will be available on the course and the course will be marked with H – Frame signs and volunteers.
