Second Chance Furry 5K – October 10, 2015 – WakeMed Soccer Park – Cary NC
|This is the perfect race for all those dog lovers out there. Four legged friends are welcome in this race to benefit Second Chance Pet Adoptions, a non-profit animal rescue organization that has been saving cats and dogs in the Triangle area of North Carolina since 1987. There are two competitive events, one with dogs and one without.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
Second Chance Pet Adoptions is the oldest no-kill rescue organization in Wake County. At Second Chance, our mission is to champion homeless cats and dogs who are healthy or treatable in the quest to find their forever homes and engage with our community to promote responsible pet ownership-ultimately reducing future generations of homeless animals.
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their packets and late entrants can register on race day beginning at 8 am. The 5K (without dogs) begins at 9 am, and the 5K (with dogs) begins five minutes later. There also is a non-timed 3K walk with or without dogs that starts at 9:35 am.
The entry fees for either event are the same – $30, if registered by September 1. The fee then is $35 from September 2 – October 9, and $40 on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entrants registered by September 26. After that date it will be “as available.”
For an additional $10, one can receive a tech shirt rather than a cotton tee.
