Leader of the Pack 5k – September 19, 2015 – FC Dunbar School/Park – Forest City NC
This is part of the Rutherford Outdoor Coalition Race Series. There is a competition between the county schools, with winning elementary, middle and high schools earning $100 and the Leader of the Pack trophy.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
The Sixth annual Leader of the Pack 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run will be held on September 19, 2014 at the Charles R. Summey Track at Forest City-Dunbar. The First Leader of the Pack 5K and Fun Run originated through the efforts of the 2010 Class of Leadership Rutherford for their Community Project. The main goal of the project was to offer support and to help raise funds for Communities in Schools of Rutherford County. Communities in Schools of Rutherford County (CISRC) adopted the event in 2011 as their signature fundraising event. In 2014 the Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation took over planning for the leader of the pack 5K.
