Morning of Hope 5k – April 4, 2015 – Freedom Park – Morganton NC

A nice 5k starting at 8 AM using Freedom Park and the Catawba River Greenway.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

The Morning of Hope 5K and Community Communion Service will be at Freedom Park on Saturday, April 4. Casting for Hope is hosting this community sunrise service and 5K run, with Dr. Tom Bland from First Baptist Church of Morganton officiating. The race will utilize the Catawba River Greenway for the run, which is accessible from Freedom Park.

Casting for Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that aids women and families in Western North Carolina who are surviving after a diagnosis of ovarian or other gynecological cancer. Casting for Hope aids these women and families through two primary ways: we provide retreats for women and caregivers and we provide financial aid to women and their families who are struggling to make ends meet due to the financial pressures of battling cancer.

Fun, Easter-themed prizes will be given to the top five overall finishers and the top three finishers in each age group: men and women <19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
