The Run for Ray Trail Run is a fundraiser for the Ray Underhill Foundation. Ray Underhill was not only a professional skateboarder he was an amazing father, husband and friend to many. Chordoma took his life prematurely on August 1, 2008 and we have chosen to put on this event to honor his memory as well as to help his wife and two young children. The Run for Ray is a 3 mile, 9 mile and 18 mile trail run. It is a grass roots event dedicated to the way skateboarding has been for 30 years. The event is simple; in the past the proceeds went to the Underhill children’s college fund and expenses not met by health insurance also funded research support at the chordoma foundation. The past three years and moving forward the Ray Underhill Foundation is an outreach to other families that cannot keep up with the expenditures for medical care and contributes to research for families impacted by cancer. It is a day dedicated to the life of Ray.
100% of the proceeds from this event go directly to The Ray Underhill Foundation formed as a non-profit 501c3 organization in 2011. This foundation was created to help the Underhill Family after the tragic loss of their husband/father, Ray Underhill. The Underhill family presents 100% of the proceeds directly to the Chordoma foundation and other families impacted by cancer.
