Elizabeth Community 8k Road Race – March 21, 2015 – Hawthorne Recreation Center – Charlotte NC

A very popular race that has been around for a long time and showcases one of the great, old Charlotte neighborhoods.

This is one of Charlotte’s longest-running events and features a USATF-certified course and a fantastic tour of the scenic residential streets of the Elizabeth neighborhood.

The event also includes a 1.5M untimed run/walk for the casual participants and youth runners and the Liz Kids’ Fun Run for the little ones. Participants will enjoy technical t-shirts (while supplies last), post-race refreshments and beer, live music from School of Rock, and even our very own Elvis! Proceeds benefit the beautification of the Historic Elizabeth Neighborhood and the replenishing of Elizabeth’s tree canopy.

ELIZABETH 8K ROAD RACE COURSE

The Elizabeth 8K Road Race begins and ends near Independence Park and Hawthorne Recreation Center. It features a USATF-certified course and a fantastic tour of the scenic residential streets of the Elizabeth neighborhood. Wheelchairs and baby joggers are welcome in the race. Water will be available at the 2 and 4 mile markers and at the finish line. Red arrows below indicate the 1.5M course.
