Results of the Hot Chocolate 10k – January 24, 2015 – Asheville NC
|FROM CORRESPONDENT VICTOR DOSTROW
The weather (a la RAD), looked sketchy in the forecasts the evening prior to the race. But, the rain stopped and the snow held off. It was pretty windy, but I’ll take that over rain any day. As before, packet pickups and race day proper were characterized by excellent organization. There was rather more crowd encouragement than last year, which is always motivating. The hill in the last mile took me out again this year, but at least I was expecting it. It’s Hot Chocolate: I’ll be back. I extend a hearty “well done” to Kick It Events, Right On Time Productions, and all finishers. And, congratulations to Tanner Cook (all the way from Virginia) as first male, with a time a solid minute ahead of second place. Congratulations also to Olivia Paxton (also not of The AVL) as first female.
