Space Hot Chocolate 8k Trail – January 24, 2015 – Cleveland Preserve Farm – Spartanburg SC

Space Hot Chocolate 8k Cleveland Preserve Farm

The Hot Chocolate 8K is Spartanburg’s first and only trail race on a working farm and features a rare chance to tour SPACE’s 300-acre Cleveland Preserve. Currently SPACE is developing plans to turn the property into a farm conservation outreach center and is working with Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, Clemson University, the Upstate Feed & Seed Project, Spartanburg School District Six and others to implement a food systems planning project to integrate locally produced foods into schools and other institutions. Today the farm is open to the public only for guided tours, hikes, and special events. Featuring the headwaters of Peters Creek, Cleveland Preserve is one of the largest permanently conserved working farms in the Upstate and is also a thriving wildlife sanctuary for turkey, deer, raptors, beaver, river otter, and more. We know you will enjoy this opportunity for a one-of-a-kind tour of one of the Upstate’s most beautiful working farms, race number two in the “Great SPACE Races,” Spartanburg’s first and only trail race series.
