There are at least a handful of races during what I consider the two-week holiday period. Plenty of opportunities to keep yourself on the go and in shape while you simultaneously enjoy the various food and drink that comprise whatever your Holiday Hootenanny might be.
Most imminent is the JSF Reindeer Run 5k at North Hendersonville High School tomorrow – Christmas Eve at 9 AM. It benefits the Jones Scholarship Foundation. Next, there are three New Years Day races. First, the Resolution Run 5k in downtown Asheville benefitting Brother Wolf Animal Rescue at 10 AM. Second, the Karen Kicks Cancer 4 Mile run in Biltmore Forest, benefitting Karen Chavez and the Hope Chest for Women at 2 PM. Third, there is the Run in 2015 in Cullowhee at 11 AM. Finally, on January 3rd there is a 5k/10k combination in Rutherford County – the Box Creek Wilderness 5k and 10k in Union Mills, NC.
So come on runners. Get out there once or twice and have some fun.
