Weekend Race Roundup – November 8, 2014

This is a busy little weekend for racing, made more so by the re-scheduling of the Super Hero 5k from November 1 to November 8 as a result of our surprise wintry weather last Saturday. The situation is perfect for what we refer to in the obsessed racing world as the ‘ tantalizingly tempting twofer.’ That’s right, I know that more than a few of you rascals are going to cross the finish line twice on Saturday. I suspect the most common pairing will be the Vance Rocket Run 5k and the Super Hero 5k, both of which are part of the Asheville Track Club’s Grand Prix Series. But I know that some of you have your eye on the Armor Run 5k and 10k up in North Asheville which, like the Rocket Run, offers some cash prizes. And perhaps a few of you will pair the Paws for a Cause 5k in Spruce Pine with the Super Hero 5k.
