Foot Rx Asheville Winter Trail Race Series 2014/2015 – Be Prepared 15k – Frosty Foot 50k/30k – Yeti or Not 25k
|
Foot Rx Asheville has organized a triple-play of long-distance trail races deep in the woods around Western North Carolina.
BE PREPARED 15K – DECEMBER 6, 2014
The ‘Be Prepared’ 15k is at Camp Daniel Boone in Canton NC and looks very much like the Daniel Boone Scramble 15k that took place for several years. I ran the Scramble in August of 2012 and it was quite challenging; up hill the first half and, well, down hill the second half. That was in August, but the ‘Be Prepared’ 15k is December 6, 2014 and has the potential for more challenging winter-like weather. Register at Active.com.

FROSTY FOOT 50K AND 30K – JANUARY 17, 2015
These races have been around for a while and have been quite popular in the past. It’s described as a scenic, laid back, no frills race in Tsali Recreational Forest in Robbinsville NC. Register at Active.com.

YETI OR NOT 25K – FEBRUARY 28, 2015
This is at DuPont Forest in Pisgah Forest NC, starting and finishing at the popular Guion Farm Parking area (if you’ve been to the DuPont 12k, the DuPont 10k, the Hickory Mountain 10k or the DuPont Half Marathon, that is Guion Farm). The race is a mix of single track and double track trails with minimal forest service roads. Register at Active.com.
