The Haywood HeathCare Foundation (formally Haywood Regional Medical Center Foundation), the Haywood County Health & Human Services Agency, and Haywood Regional Medical Center are proud to announce the upcoming 8thh Annual Power of Pink, to be held Saturday, October 25th at the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center.
This yearly event includes a Pink Relay Race, 5k Walk/Run, Honor/Memory/Survivor Walk, and participants are allowed in the walk/run to bring their 4 legged friends. This event is sponsored by local businesses and individuals and is held to raise funds for early breast cancer detection to underserved women in Haywood County. Since 2007 over $110,000 has been contributed to help provide early detection and follow-up procedures for over 600 local women. Over 1,000 mammograms and follow up procedures were paid with funds from this event.
There are five levels of sponsorship for the event, from the $100 Team/Organization, $150 Honor/Memory/Survivor, $250 T-Shirt Sponsor, $500 Aid Station Sponsor and $1,000 for Lead Sponsor. Each sponsorship level includes different benefits for the sponsor, including having business names printed on event t-shirts, and free entries into the event. Runners and walkers may register online prior to the event at imAthlete for a $25 fee and $100 for Pink Relay teams. Registration on the day of the event costs $30. All races begin and end at the Fitness Center; the Pink Relay begins at 8:00 am, 5k Race, Walk & Dog run begins at 9:30 am, and the Honor/Memory/Survivor walk begins at 10:30 am.
