Twilight Rock n Roll 5k – August 23, 2014 – Highlands NC
This is the third evening event in a weekend dominated by evening events (see the Waynesville Main Street Mile and the Maggie Valley Moonlight Run 8k). I don’t recall seeing ‘undulating’ as a course description adjective before, but I like it.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
Come join us for the second annual Rotary Club of Highlands/Twilight Rock n Roll 5K. Fun for the whole family with strollers and walkers welcome. It will be challenging for experienced runners. Includes a t-shirt for 1st 100 participants. There will be glow sticks for the kids. Everyone crossing the finish line gets a beer from Ugly Dog Pub. There will be a music concert during and after the race 6-10 PM. Awards presented to overall top male and female finisher and top 3 finishers in each 10 year age division. Kids under 10 run for free. This is the premier 5k event in beautiful Highlands NC. Come race and spend the weekend in our beautiful town.
EVENT SCHEDULE AND TIMES
- Race is on August 23rd starting at 6PM at the Kelsey Hutchinson Park.
- The course is undulating, beginners or walkers will find it friendly, yet the faster runners will be challenged. Registration and check-in will start at 4PM.
- Parking will be available around the park.
- Bring chairs, coolers, refreshments, blankets to join us for the evening music.
