Run the Forest 5k – October 4, 2014 – Carolina Day School – Biltmore Forest – Asheville NC
This is the second year for this event. There was an impressive turnout in 2013 with over 330 finishers. This year the race organizers will use chip timing by Right on Time Productions.
FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS
This year’s 5K and Fitness Event will benefit the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc. a nonprofit.
- The 5K will have the same route as 2013 through Biltmore Forest. The 5K will start at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 4 (from Carolina Day School – 1345 Hendersonville Road).
- New this year is a Fitness Event which will follow the 5K. The fitness event will start at 10:30 AM and is open to beginners or experienced athletes (workout to come soon!) The fitness event will also be held at Carolina Day School.
- Folks can participate in one or both of the events, either individually or as a team.
- We’ll also have a couple large inflatables for younger kids to have fun during the events.
- First 300 registered are guaranteed a race shirt.
- Cost is $34.99 for 5K, $29.99 for Fitness Event, or $44.99 for both events.
- Prizes will be awarded for top female and top male in each of the following age categories: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & older.
- USATF certified course.
