It was a nice cool morning for a race. I was a spectator watching the race with my dogs and enjoyed the show.
FROM CORRESPONDENT VICTOR DOSTROW
Last year was rainy and cruddy and ugh. This year was around 60 deg. with relatively low humidity and sun. It was a perfect day for racing. As usual, race organization was solid. And, as usual, the community turned out in force to cheer runners on. Also, this year the race was chip timed, which is always appreciated. I ran a course PR.
Congratulations to Josey Weaver as first male and Aleshia Reese as first female. And, a junior blog correspondent particular congratulations to Gary Curran as first Masters.

My name is Janet Bensley and I ran in the Firecracker 5K 2014 (Weaverville). My bib number was 210, my age is 61 and I’m a female. This info is the same as on my race packet picked up this morning. My finish time was 25:20 and I don’t see my name in the results anywhere. I do find my bib number and race time applied to Jolene Brookshire, who placed second in the 50-54 age group. Can you help me with this, or refer me to someone who can?
Thanks,
Janet
I just notified the timing company.
