Rock the Quarry Trail Challenge 5k – September 20, 2014 – Black Mountain NC
A terrific, challenging trail 5k through the Quarry in Black Mountain, this race is part of the 2014 Asheville Track Club Grand Prix Series. If that’s not enough, there are cash prizes for the top two overall finishers.

Rock the Quarry Trail Challenge 5k is a foot race with a mission to bring our community together to celebrate good health in our beautiful surroundings while supporting our neighbors. This year’s proceeds go to Black Mountain Home for Children’s Everyday Fund and the Colburn Earth Science Museum.
- Awards for top male and female finisher in each age group & CASH PRIZES to the 1st ($200) & 2nd ($100) place overall finishers.
- All participants will receive a race bag with a Rock the Quarry technical T-Shirt (Shirts only guaranteed to runners that register before Monday, September 8th)
- Age group awards will go to the 1st and 2nd male and female finishers in the following age groups: 12 & Under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,60-69, 70 & Over.

- Shirts are only guaranteed to runners that register before September 8th.
- Packet pick-up is Friday, September 19th from 4-6PM at Black Mountain Running Company. 106 W. Main Street in Black Mountain, NC. Your packet will include driving directions to the race start and your race bib.
- Driving Directions: We will be using the back gate of Grove Stone for the race. To get to the back gate, take Lake Eden Road off of Old US Hwy 70 until it dead-ends, once you reach the end – the back gate will be on your right. Pull through the gate, take a left on the dirt road, and there will be volunteers helping you park.
- If you cannot make it to pick up your packet early, you can get it on race day, just make sure you get there plenty early so you won’t be rushed.
- Your friends will still be able to register the morning of, so bring them! Late registration will be at the race start, just plan on getting there a couple minutes early.
