Results of the Read Write and Run 5k – May 31, 2014 – Woodfin Elementary – Asheville NC

The turnout was modest, but perhaps better than expected for a first year event. The weather largely cooperated, with overcast and somewhat humid conditions, but temperatures in the 60s. The race was well run, with many enthusiastic volunteers assisting. The course was a real challenge, with near continuous pretty steep hills, but a fairly flat last half mile provided a bit of relief. The organizers put together a good race, and the proceeds support healthy living programs at Woodfin Elementary.

Congratulations to Zach Wilkins as the male division winner and to Kimsey Ellis, who has been winning races left and right lately, as the female division winner.
