The Asheville School is a great venue for a “minimal pavement” race.

The Rotary Ray of Hope 5K/8K Run will be held on April 19, 2014 at the beautiful Asheville School in West Asheville. The starting time is 8:30 AM.

Both races will start simultaneously from the football field and run on grass, groomed trails and minimal pavement throughout the schools private surroundings. Asheville School is one of the nation’s leading boarding schools, set on a campus of 300 pastoral acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course will be well marked in addition to having numerous volunteers to assist. A highly visible directional sign will indicate the split in the course for the 5K and 8K (approx. 5 miles) runs, both finishing at the football field. Strollers are not recommended.

100% of all race proceeds go to support disadvantaged Asheville and Buncombe County youth by direct contributions to local 501(c)3 organizations assisting in this endeavor.
