I’ve run the PB & J 5k twice in the past (2010 and 2012) when the race was held at Rugby Middle School. It was always a fun event. Last year it moved to Camp Ton A Wandah which looks like a great place. I think I ran a small, low-key 5k race at Camp Ton A Wandah back in 2006. I remember a nice cross-country course.
The Junior Welfare Club of Hendersonville is proud to present this year’s race once again at the beautiful CAMP TON-A-WANDAH. After completing one of the most scenic cross country courses around, participants will enjoy delicious PB&J sandwiches, awards and fabulous door prizes at the finish line! Runner families, friends and fan clubs that accompany you to watch the race that morning are sure to enjoy many family-friendly festivities, food, vendors, music and so much more!
Your registration fees will benefit many causes that align with our mission of improving the lives of women and children including providing Christmas gifts for each special needs classroom in Henderson County, mentoring teen girls at the Boys and Girls Club, assisting Helping Hands Developmental Center, sponsoring local Back Pack programs and this year we are pleased to begin supporting Only Hope WNC. Only Hope exists to serve the homeless youth of WNC by providing a home and services where education, personal growth and opportunity are supported and encouraged.
