Bearwallow Beast 5k – May 4, 2014 – Bearwallow Mountain – Gerton, NC

The BEAST is back. There aren’t many race payoffs as impressive as reaching the top of Bearwallow Mountain after a grueling uphill climb. Start with asphalt, then gravel road, then single track trail. A spectacular view from the top and a big festival to go along with it. There’s a shuttle bus to take you back down to the starting area afterward, but last year I just ran back down to make it a 10k round trip. It’s a Sunday afternoon race.
