DuPont Forest 12k Trail Race – March 29, 2014 – DuPont State Forest – Brevard, NC

The 14th Annual DuPont Forest 12k Trail Race is sponsored by Jus’ Running and benefits DuPont State Forest. DuPont State Forest is a great place to run, hike or just hang out. There are other races held at DuPont Forest but this one is the original and, frankly, my personal favorite.

This is a great, not too difficult 12k (7.4 miles) trail race. Mostly double track, not too much single track and some forest service roads. It has a great start – mostly flat to downhill for the first couple of miles. And since the race starts at 10:00 AM you can sleep in and still have plenty of time to get to DuPont Forest.

DIRECTIONS TO DUPONT 12k TRAIL RACE

Take I-26 to Exit 40 (the airport), and take highway 280 to Pisgah Forest. Turn left on US 64 in Pisgah Forest. Travel east on US 64 for 3.7 miles to a stoplight. Turn right on Crab Creek Road and continue 4.3 miles and turn right on Dupont Road. Go approximately 1/2 mile, then left on Sky Valley Road. Go approximately 2 miles to parking lot on right hand side. Registration, packet pick-up, and race start are all here.
