The 2013 version of the annual LIONS RUN at Asheville Christian Academy was dominated by current and former ACA cross country runners. Alum, Sully Pierce, who was on the 2010 State Championship Team, kicked up his heels and displayed a show of steady running as he powered home on the ACA course in 18:37, while current ACA team Captain, Barron Northrup took 2nd in 19:06. The top three spots in the women’s division were also captured by current ACA runners, Lindsey Banks, Brittainy Crisp and Lauren Douglas. The one mile kid’s run was also dominated by ACA runners with top time of 6:37 by Gordon Brown and 7:10 by Emmas Cochrane, both ACA Middle School team members. “We had 98 finishers in the 5K and 60 who completed the one mile course,” said Don McMahill, Head CC Coach and Meet Director. We couldn’t have asked for better conditions today for the 7th annual race which raises funds for the ACA cross country program.
