Super Hero 5k – October 26, 2013 – Asheville, NC

Each year in late October or early November, normal Asheville citizens (if any of us can be considered normal) jettison our day-to-day identifies in favor of something, well, more Asheville. That’s right, we dress up as just about any kind of super hero you can imagine, including the typical Spiderman, Captain America, Wonder Woman and the less typical such as the most legendary of all … Souper Man. And we run a 5k, eat pizza and drink beer.

So don’t miss out on this race, which is part of the Asheville Track Club Grand Prix Series. Go into your garage, basement or storage unit, gather some old clothes, boxes, tin foil, streamers, pipe cleaners, coat hangers, yarn, plaster and whatever else you can find and make yourself a costume. Slap on your shoes and you’re good to go. The great thing about this race is that if you don’t run that well, nobody will recognize you.
