The second annual Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, October 19 beginning at 8 am at the Acquoni Events Center (former Cherokee High School) on Acquoni Road in Cherokee.
Runners will start at the Event Center and finish inside the stadium. The half marathon course will tour all of Cherokee and will be relatively flat except for one climb at the 6 mile mark. The 5K course will stay predominantly in town and is mostly flat.
Race proceeds will benefit the Madison Hornbuckle Children’s Cancer Foundation serving children 17 and under with cancer in Jackson, Graham, Swain, and Haywood Counties. Last year, over $10,000 was generated from this event.
