Chimney Rock

It was nice and cool for the start of the Race to the Rock 5k at 8 AM. We watched the bike race start at 7:30 and milled around until it was our turn to take off down the main road in the town of Chimney Rock, turn right into Chimney Rock Park, cross the bridge and start the climb. The first mile is a bit of a warm up, not as steep as miles two and three. The bike racers started finishing just about the time the last runners were coming through the chute. It was a well-organized and managed event with great post-race food.
