|A very popular race for an important cause. With a challenging course, this race is part of the Asheville Track Club 2013 Grand Prix series. Here’s information from the race organizers:
The 8th Annual WNC Run/Walk for Autism on Saturday, September 14th at UNCA features a 5K competitive and non-competitive run and a recreational 1K run/walk.
The incidence of autism is now 1 in 88 births! Each day, two North Carolina families have a child diagnosed with a form of autism. Your involvement allows the Autism Society of North Carolina to raise awareness and funds which enable us to provide services and promote opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum in western NC.
We can help. You can help.
The WNC Run/Walk for Autism is not just an Asheville Track Club Grand Prix Series race; it’s a family-friendly event for individuals living with autism and the community at large. The festival includes the Fun Zone, music, refreshments, and vendor space where businesses, service providers, local support resources, and sponsors are showcased.
