Run the Forest Run 5k – October 26, 2013 – Biltmore Forest – Asheville, NC

Run the Forest 5k Image

Here’s something you don’t see very often, a race in Biltmore Forest. Other than the Asheville Track Club’s New Years Day Resolution Run, I haven’t seen a race in Biltmore Forest. There’s a 5k and a 1 mile fun run.

FROM THE RACE ORGANIZERS

The Run the Forest Run 5K is a fundraiser by Asheville Eye Associates for the Low Vision Center, a non-profit which provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation services, low vision aids and support to help promote independent living to people with low vision. Parking and Start/Finish line for the race will be at Carolina Day School located at 1345 Hendersonville Road. Runners will follow a course through scenic Biltmore Forest. Prizes will be awarded in various categories, and post race snacks and water will be provided. Timing will be handled by veteran runner and race timing professional Danny Phillips.
